Key reactions to the budget and its impact on women

The federal budget, announced on Tuesday, includes significant wins for women, particularly single mothers, and increased investments in key areas such as Medicare and measures to alleviate the cost of living.

Funding has been allocated to address recommendations made by the Women’s Economic Equality Taskforce, including pay raises for aged care workers and expanded support for single parents. Various organisations have commended the budget for its positive steps towards gender equality, though many emphasise the need for further action.
