New initiative to bolster number of women in apprenticeships

The federal government aims to address the underrepresentation of women in trades through the implementation of a $4.1 billion, five-year National Skills Agreement, as highlighted in the recent budget.

The plan includes specific targets for female apprentices and trainees, with the goal of doubling the number of women in apprenticeships and traineeships on major construction projects.

Our Managing Director Sarah Liu, welcomes the investment in apprenticeships and emphasises the need to expand how companies perceive the employability of women in the tech industry. She calls for swift action to overcome systemic barriers and ensure that women do not miss out on the opportunities available in the sector.
